How Solar Energy Created
Solar cell can be used to directly convert sunlight to electricity i.e Solar Energy . The sunlight which hit our rooftop contains photons. The solar panel mounted on roof top convert this photon into electrons of direct current (“DC”) electricity. This electron flows out of the solar panel into an invertors. This invertors converts the DC power into AC power.AC power is used to power our household equipments.
The produced energy if not used simultaneously will be stored in electrical grid through net energy meter , which keep a track power produced by solar cell. This stored energy can be utilized when there is cloudy whether or when there is not much sunlight to produce electricity.
Solar cells
Solar cell are small square shaped panel which are made from silicon material , A thin layer manufactured film layers. When sun rays strikes them a chemical reaction takes place which releases electrons, this electrons in turn produces electricity. Solar cell also called photovoltaic cell (PV cell).
Components in Solar Photovoltaic
The PV system components include a PV module. This are called PV panels, batteries, charge regulators or controller for standalone system ,and an invertor for utility grid system.A PV modules arranges the PV cells and the modules are grouped together in an array. Some array have tracking devices to follow the sunlight so that they can be more efficiency.
Sunlight Requirements for PV Systems
There should be no obstruction between the sunlight and photovoltaic cell.Shading on the system can significantly reduce the efficiency of the system. Wind and climate does not cause any concern to the system only important thing is there should be sunlight on the panel to produce electricity.
The Size of Your Solar PV System
The size of the system depends on your energy requirement i.e how many equipments you want to power the more the equipment’s more will be the panels to be install on the rooftop and the investment you can do in setting up the same.
